The trip went smoothly and everyone is now home adjusting to their new families. We wish them all the best of luck! May 2006 China Program Update-AFC Email

Greetings from Alliance!

We are writing to update you on news about referrals, the wait time, and families traveling to China.

Referrals
The Alliance for Children did not receive any referrals in May. The CCAA did update their website in the second half of May and reports that dossiers logged in before June 15th were referred. The trend has been that referrals are sent once per month towards the end of the month. Based on this group of referrals, the current wait time is about 11½ months. We do not have any news from the CCAA about the expected wait time, however based the experience of these last moths, we expect the wait to continue to increase, but slowly. If we get any new information about the length of the wait, we will update you as soon as possible

The next group of Alliance dossiers for which we are waiting for referrals were logged in June 16th and then June 20th after that.

Travel
Three Alliance families traveled to Guangxi Province in May to pick up their daughter. All of the families are back at home and doing well. We have four families in Guangdong Province this week and they have already picked up their daughters. Aside from a few colds, they are all doing well and moving smoothly through the process. We will also have one family traveling to China in June to bring home their child adopted through the Alliance waiting child program, the Green Passage Program.

Addendum to March 2006 China Program Update-AFC Email

Dear Alliance Families,
We are happy to announce that we received 3 referrals on March 27th. As you are all aware, there have been delays in China over the past couple of months due to the increase of dossiers received by CCAA in the month of May, 2005. Because of this increase, the CCAA has divided the dossiers received in the month of May 2005 into 4 groups. Two of the referrals we received were logged in on May 26, 2005, and the other was an expedited case, logged in on October 23rd . As you know, dossiers for special needs children or those filed by families of Chinese decent can be expedited. The babies are all from Guangxi Province and range in age from 6 to 10 months of age. We expect the next batch of referrals shortly for dossiers logged in on May 31st .

We will be in touch as soon as we receive the next group of referrals. We all understand how difficult the waiting time can be and we thank you for your continued patience.

March 2006 China Program Update-Email from AFC

Dear Waiting Families,

Although we have not yet received our latest batch of referrals this month, we wanted to update you on a few things we are sure you will find of interest. We all understand how difficult the waiting time can be for families, so please always feel free to call or email us with any questions or concerns that might come up while you wait.

Referrals
The wait time from log in date to referral is now a pproximately 10 months. Referrals for dossiers logged in May, 2005 have been delayed as a result of the very high numbers of dossiers logged in at the CCAA that month. Previous months normally were split into two batches, however, it now seems that May may be split into as many as four batches for referrals. This has never happened before so it is difficult for us to predict how long it will take for CCAA to complete the month of May or how it will effect the following months, but we will continue to update you as we receive information or updates from CCAA. We know how disappointing these delays can be, especially for families who began the process thinking the wait was only 6 or 7 months, but we want to reassure you that there is no problem with your referral, CCAA is just trying to adjust to the overwheming amount of dossiers they received last spring. Hopefully our next email to you will be announcing the receipt of our next batch of referrals. Until then, try to stay positive, and know your little girls will be matched to you very soon.

Alliance welcomed home seven families in February and two families in March. Everyone is happy to be home and doing very well. Congratulations!

Our Dossier is on it's way to China!

We got the official notice from AFC that our dossier has been sent on 2/16/06! We just await our log in date (LID). Below is the the email from Lin Jing, Associate Director of China Program :

Congratulations! I am writing to let you know that your dossier had been sent to China today, February 16, 2006. When it reaches China, it will be logged in to the China Center of Adoption Affairs (CCAA) database and begin processing in about 2 weeks. Currently, we cannot predict exactly how long your wait time will be. But our last group received their referrals after 8 months’ wait. You will receive our updates as soon as we hear anything from CCAA. You can also log on to CCAA’s website for updated information on processing time (<http://www.china-ccaa.org>).
