Nice Spring Weekend

We celebrated Luke and Jackson's 6th birthday this weekend complete with a Star Wars cake. Siena had fun with her older cousins and got to spend time with all her family. Grandma, Shelby, Tyler, Auntie Melissa and Uncle Adam stopped by and Siena was thrilled to see everyone. She awoke from her nap this afternoon asking for Luke, Jax, Auntie Lara and Uncle Jed. I think she finds the house boring without all of them!

China Sister's Reunited!

All 5 families that traveled together last summer were able to get together this weekend and celebrate the Chinese New Year. It was a great time and wonderful to see all of the girls together. They all are happy, healthy and thriving and we had a great time catching up with everyone.

Saturday night we held dinner at our house and then on Sunday we headed to Chinatown in Boston for Dim Sum. The day was beautiful so most of us decided to stay and we walked over to the North End for Cannoli's at Mike's Pastry. Can you say YUM!

Don't Fall Monkey, Don't Fall!

We spent the week in Stowe, Vermont and had a nice vacation. Stowe received 2 feet of snow and Justin had a blast snowboarding in fresh powder. For the most part we just hung out, did some swimming and ate a ton. It was a nice relaxing week.

One of Siena's favorite things to do is build things and then knock them over. She has a set of legos that she stacks real high and then places a "Little People" monkey on the top. She then taunts the monkey before finally sending him flying. It is really funny to watch and hear her say, "Don't fall monkey, don't fall!" She will do this several times. We finally got it on video and it is even funnier with her pink tutu on!

Lion Dances Oh My!

We went into Chinatown this morning to watch the Lion Dance Parade. It was great fun and a really nice day. We watched the Lion Dancers go to all the restaurant store fronts and be given lettuce and an orange. Then the firecrackers would go off which if you were too near them was very loud! At one point they went off right at our feet which Siena did NOT care for.

We met up with Andrew, Trena, Shay, Quin, Geno and Kiana and went to the China Pearl for Dim Sum. It was yummy!

Year of the Tiger!

Today marks the beginning of the Chinese New Year. 2010 is the year of the Tiger. We started celebrating last weekend by heading into Boston's Chinatown and met up with Kiana, Melanie and Geno. Today we went out to lunch to a local Chinese restaurant (Mandarin Westborough) and we had a lot of fun. The restaurant gave out "Red Envelopes" to all the kids. During the Chinese New Year, children will receive red envelopes from adults (mostly parents and relatives). The red envelope usually contains money and in turn ensures health and prosperity in the upcoming new year.

Siena had a crisp, new $1 bill in her red envelope!

February already

This year seems to be going by so quickly. Siena's vocabulary is improving every day. She continues to surprise us with new words and expressions. She is the ultimate mimic and we have to watch what we say and do in front of her. Here are few pics of her being silly (her usual self). She loves to have her hair pulled up - but it does not stay that way for long. It's Superbowl Sunday and we are pulling for the Saints!

No Cavities!

Siena had her 1st dentist appointment this morning. No cavities and she didn't bite the dentist. Now that is a successful visit!

Having Fun with Elmo

Tonight we went to see Elmo's Green Thumb-Sesame Street Live at the DCU center. Siena had a blast and loved the music and dancing. She was VERY excited to see Elmo and Abby Cadabby but when the characters came out into the audience she clung to us for dear life. It was funny to watch her go from sheer delight to sheer terror in a matter of seconds. All the other kids were running up to the characters for hugs but Siena wanted nothing to do with that action.

We had a great weekend walking in the woods and just catching up on home life. Sad to see the weekend over.....

Happy New Year!

Welcome 2010 - hard to top 2009 with the addition of Siena, but we are looking forward to new and great memories this year. We spent lots of time with family and did more sledding and partying. Lots of excitement and fun for Siena but it is now nice to be back in our routine.

Merry Christmas!

We had an awesome Christmas with our little girl! She became quite a master at opening presents and boy did she get a lot of them. We had a white Christmas this year and Siena got to play in the snow and join her cousins in lots of sledding.

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

The weather has definitely turned more wintery and we are expecting a pretty big storm tomorrow night. We took Siena out sledding and walking in the snow last week and she had a ball. She is definitely not used to this white stuff but is adapting well. She is not so sure about all of the clothes and boots she has to put on but is being a pretty good sport.

We went to Kiana's 2nd birthday party and that was really nice. It is always great fun to see the girls together and catch-up.

1st Tree Trimming

We put up our Christmas Tree today and Siena had a blast. She of course picked up every fragile ornament we have and touched every sharp ornament hook. Luckily we only broke 2 ornaments, and one of them was my fault! :)

It was a nice night of celebrating the season and we have some snow falling to put us in the Christmas spirit.

We also went to Berlin Farms today to visit Santa Claus. Siena took one look at him and said, "NO!" Needless to say we didn't get within 20 feet of him. Maybe next year........

Siena's 1st Thanksgiving

We had a yummy dinner at Aunt Cindy's and Uncle Jared's house. Siena had fun running around the house and being the center of attention. She didn't sit very well during dinner and only had a few bites of turkey. Of course once dessert was served she was at the dinner table, fork in hand.

Asa

We lost one of our furry friends today. Asa was a fantastic companion and always wanted to be a lap dog, even though he was 65 pounds! We will miss him soooooooooooooo much and it has been a tough week since we also lost our cat, Lika, on Halloween. They both lived long and happy lives and our house feels empty without them.

This is the last picture we have of Asa on 11/1/09. We are happy that we took it with Siena and Abbey by his side. He loved them both.

The video clip is of Siena walking Abbey that same day. She had fun being dragged around by Abbey.

2nd Birthday!

Today is Siena's 2nd birthday and she had a great day. She opened a couple of gifts, had a great day at school, ate a big dinner and then topped it all off with cake. She LOVED blowing out the candles and we had to repeat this a bunch of times.

1st Halloween

We went to Barrington, RI and went trick-or-treating with Luke and Jax. Siena had a blast and kept up with the older kids running door to door. She was a lion and got the roar down very well. The picture we have is of her right as we were starting and not reflective of the time that she had. She had big lion tears at the start....

China Families Reunited

After being home for four months with Siena we got together with the other 4 families we traveled to China with at the Lillie's home in Connecticut. We had a great day with all of the girls and it was fun to see everyone again. The weather was fantastic and we spent the day eating, playing, taking walks and just catching up. Thank you Sanna, Ivy and Brian for hosting!
